John Sullivan is a Building Physics Consultant at BuroHappold Engineering. He has been a member of the Dubai sustainability team since 2013. He has six years of energy modelling and simulation experience primarily in the UAE and USA, with additional experience on projects in Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Germany, and the UK. His project experience includes high-rise office towers, university buildings, museums, metro stations, exhibition buildings, and single/multi-family housing.
John has a Master’s Degree in Building Science from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed a research fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Building Technology Laboratory where he developed urban scale energy simulation tools for microclimate analysis. John is an ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modelling Professional (BEMP). His experience includes thermal and daylight energy modelling, climate analysis, passive design, façade performance, HVAC performance, and optimization of outdoor thermal comfort in warm climates.
